Highly accomplished mountaineer and guide Ashish Gurung has been on 16 Everest expeditions, summited four times and this spring Ashish is back on Everest leading a team with the hope of adding a fifth summit to his achievements. A deep inherent connection to the high alpine and a selfless energy to help people achieve their dreams is at the core of this very talented human.

Heli-ski guide, Paramedic, Ski Racer, planter of over 2 million trees and Utu friend,  Evian Rowlands is a true Outdoor Lover. Hailing from Northern British Colombia, she came up in the ski racing world at a young age and went on to compete internationally. Skiing has driven her life and directed her career ever since.  

Mike “Mikey” Kratzer is a true force in the global running community. From trail to ultra, he embodies grit, style, and an unstoppable spirit. A beacon of positivity, Mikey uplifts everyone around him with his kindness, energy, and unwavering support- making him not just an Outdoor Lover, but a foundational one. As you read this, Mikey is steadily charging across the Mojave Desert, taking on The Speed Project’s legendary 300+ mile race from Los Angeles to Las Vegas—a true test of endurance, willpower, and adventure.  

Meg’s love for the outdoors was sparked during unstructured childhood vacations spent exploring trails with her family. As an adult, climbing became her passion, leading her to co-found Smile Mountain Guides—a company rooted in education, stewardship, and inclusivity, including a focus on the Deaf/ASL community. For Meg, being outside isn’t just about the adventure—it's about connection, growth, and joy.

Winters spent splitboarding in the PNW and Alaska, and summers spent whitewater guiding out of Jackson Hole, Carver is living and working the dream, and we salute that. " My personal goals are pretty simple: Create more and consume less". 

We caught up with Sam as he prepared for a goat-packing hike into The Sespe Wilderness, near the remote Californian town of Cuyama. It was mighty hot that day.

“It was hard at first being gay in the water. There was a good amount of homophobic comments but with time I’ve been in the water everyday, not backing down, and improving my surf and no one can really say anything now. There is still the occasional visitor, or group of visitors, that makes comments or has a really outdated macho bro view of surf, but I can honestly say I have the support here of the Saladita community, wonderful friends, and I know also the support of the LGBTQ community”
